Velikoanadolskiy Forest

Velikoanadolsky Forest is a unique natural site attractive all year long. The forest is an actual museum in the open air as it is habitat for rare and endangered species that feel safely at home here. Centuries ago, as the steppes of Donbass were cultivated, there were repeated efforts to plant forests here, to no avail though. The first oaks were planted here back in 1843, and some of them have survived up to now.

Velikoanadolsky Forest is popular both with scientists, who come here to gain experience in foresting, and locals who seek places for picnics and family rest. Pure lakes alternate with valleys, steppes and shady alleys making up picturesque scenery of exceptional beauty. Among the key sites of the Forest are: a dendrology park, the Lake of Love, as well as age-old oak groves.
