Currency and exchange rate
Ukraine introduced its national currency hryvnia in 1996. One hryvnia is 100 kopiykas. There are notes for 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 hryvnias; coins are for 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 kopiykas.
Hryvnia can be easily converted at any authorized bank or numerous exchange offices in streets. As rates may vary greatly, it's worth taking a quest to find out the best option. Banks and exchange booths don’t charge any service fees. Coins are not normally exchanged in Ukraine.
US Dollars, Euros and Russian rubles are converted almost everywhere. With other currencies, you will have to go to large banks.
