Constitution Day

This holiday has been celebrated since 1996, when on 28 June the Constitution of independent Ukraine was adopted. The day usually features entertainment activities and fireworks. Concerts and musical events are common in public parks too. To mark the day, municipal authorities hold a number of ceremonial events. Flowers are laid to the monuments of renowned statesmen, who fought for freedom and independence of Ukraine. Exhibitions of photo and archive materials show the process underlying adoption of the Main Law. Cultural facilities and schools hold a number of thematic events to raise cultural, political and legal awareness of youth, as well as cultivate their respect for state symbols.
